What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?

I originally studied a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) at The University of Melbourne, before completing a Masters of Data Science at The Barcelona School of Economics.

After working for a while as a data scientist, I was looking to change career path into something that could have a positive impact on climate change and also something that I would find intellectually stimulating - the energy sector was the perfect combination.

I found a position at McKinsey Energy Solutions, where I first became interested in energy modelling and optimisation, and then subsequently was working as the lead Iberian long term fundamental modeller at bp in their Power Market Insights team.

What is your role at Gridcog?

I joined Gridcog as a Product Manager - Modelling in the newly minted Madrid office. My role will be focussed on bridging the gap between clients’ needs and the software, translating complex energy market concepts into clear modelling requirements.

‍What attracted you to working with Gridcog?

I was attracted to Gridcog for many reasons. I believe providing robust and accurate project modelling software is crucial in the acceleration of the energy transition. Secondly, I was very impressed by the team and I felt I could fit in well with the culture.

The chance to work with a young and motivated team on an important problem was too hard to turn down.

Skydiving in Queenstown, New Zealand

What technology could you not live without?

Probably my Kindle, I read an unhealthy amount of Scandinavian crime novels.

Bikepacking around the south of Spain
