User Terms of Service
These User Terms of Service (“User Terms”) explain your rights and responsibilities as an individual user (“Authorised User”) of the Gridcog platform, as well as our commitments to you. They sit alongside:
- Our Customer Terms and Conditions (our binding contract with your Company),
- Our Privacy Policy
If anything in these User Terms conflicts with the Customer Terms and Conditions, those terms take priority.
Access & Account Responsibilities / Joining and using Gridcog
Gridcog provides access to the platform through a Customer account, which we will set up and manage. Each authorised user must register individually and use their own login, which can’t be shared with others.
Access is limited to the fees, limits, and inclusions set out in the Terms and Conditions agreed with your Company.
Gridcog must only be used for lawful and professional purposes. Additionally,
- Don’t upload anything harmful, or misuse data.
- If you spot a vulnerability, please report it to us at security@gridcog.com
- Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Data you upload and create
All data that you, and other Authorised Users upload to Gridcog, and any data derived from it; remains owned by the Customer at all times. Gridcog doesn’t claim ownership.
We treat all Customer Data as confidential and is protected according to the Customer’s contract and Customer Terms and Conditions. Gridcog isn’t responsible for the accuracy, quality, or legality of the data you upload, that remains the Customer’s responsibility.
Privacy
Gridcog is committed to safeguarding your personal data. As part of using the platform, Gridcog requires a minimal amount of personal data (your work email and name), and we process this in compliance with all pertinent regulations, including GDPR. Our [Privacy Policy] further explains what data collect, how we use it, and the technical and operational measures we apply to protect it. By using Gridcog, you acknowledge that your data will be processed in line with our Privacy Policy.
Third Parties
We rely on trusted third-party providers to deliver some parts of our service, such as hosting, data sources, or integrations. We carefully select providers who meet appropriate security and service standards, but we cannot guarantee their performance or availability.
Use and Availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime and schedule maintenance outside working hours when possible. Technical support is available during business hours, with a next-business-day response target.
We may add, change, or retire features from time to time, and will give advance notice where feasible. However, uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed, and we are not responsible for access issues outside our control (for example, internet outages).
Intellectual Property
Gridcog’s software, systems, and content are protected by intellectual property laws. You must not copy, reverse engineer, or otherwise misuse our code or documentation. You and your organisation retain rights to your own trademarks and data. If you choose to share feedback, ideas, or suggestions about Gridcog - we may use them at our discretion, but we will not attribute them to your organisation without consent.
Confidentiality
Both you, and Gridcog agree to keep each other’s confidential information secure and to use it only for the purposes of providing or using the service. Confidential information must not be disclosed to third parties unless legally required, or to related companies where allowed by these terms.
If there’s a breach of confidentiality, or even a suspected breach, both parties must notify the other promptly. Please email privacy@gridcog.com.
Electronic Communication
We may send notices and communications electronically, including by email, in-app notifications, or messages within the platform. These communications count as being “in writing”. Notices to your organisation will go to the contact details it has provided, and it is your organisation’s responsibility to keep these details up to date. Notices to Gridcog should be sent to support@gridcog.com and to your Account Manager.
Suspension and Termination
If you breach these User Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or the Customer’s Terms and Conditions, Gridcog may suspend or permanently revoke your access to the platform. For serious breaches, we may also notify the Customer (your employer or organisation) and, if necessary, law enforcement or regulators.
