We regularly benchmark Gridcog simulations against real assets in the market, we make the results of this benchmarking available in our client documentation and set sensible defaults across the platform informed by this work. Our rich Library includes historical pricing data which is updated daily via API and TSO and DSO tariffs are updated in line with updates from the network operators themselves.

Gridcog’s commercial model is highly flexible and configurable. Clients can model commercial arrangements from subsidies, PPAs to merchant models and more. It’s easy to customise which markets or value streams your assets are exposed to and add additional project stakeholders in the commercial model. Clients can also configure which stakeholder their flexible asset is optimising for and assess how this alters revenues and dispatch patterns.
Accurately reflecting market rules is imperative. Gridcog includes all of the building blocks and relevant parameters for clients to ensure that local market rules are simulated properly. For ancillary service markets these include, bid rounding, headroom/footroom, activation pricing, energy utilisation, offers accepted and bid intervals (blocks). For wholesale markets these include trading between multiple markets, churn (or virtual trading) and price thresholds required to churn. More parameters exist for capacity and balancing markets as well.
