Meet Lizzi Gold, our new Business Development Manager in London

I'm excited to welcome Lizzi to the Gridcog team – joining as our Business Development Manager, based in London!

Lizzi has spent the past 5 years in the long duration energy storage space at RheEnergise, growing their commercial pipeline of utility-scale co-development projects. Now at Gridcog, she'll be responsible for building our customer base across Europe with utility-scale developers, IPPs and utilities.

What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?

I started my career working as an account manager at a marketing consultancy, but the more I learned about energy, the more I wanted to work in the industry.

I took a chance on a role with a technology startup called RheEnergise before Gridcog, in the LDES (long duration energy storage) space, which is a really exciting, innovative segment of the energy sector. I worked at RheEnergise for 5 years and was responsible for growing our commercial pipeline, which consisted mostly of utility-scale co-development projects with European developers, IPPs and utilities.

In that time, it grew from a tiny fledgling company to a global business of over 30 people, during which time I learned a huge amount about the energy sector - I now can’t imagine doing anything else.

What is your role at Gridcog?

I’ve joined the Sales team at Gridcog as Business Development Manager, based in London. I’ll be responsible for building our customer base across Europe with utility-scale developers, IPPs and utilities.

‍What attracted you to working with Gridcog?

In my previous role I had a lot of headaches trying to model complex, multi-asset projects across multiple jurisdictions, and trying to keep up with the changing policy landscapes across them. I immediately saw the value that Gridcog brings to the space, and was excited about the opportunity to work with a smart, fast growing team of like-minded people.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love being outdoors and active. I play for a 5-a-side team called the Bend it Babes and run regularly - I ran London marathon in 2026 which was an amazing experience. I try to get out of London fairly often to breathe fresh air and hike/ski/camp, and most recently hiked a few days of the GRP trans-pyrenean trail which was stunning. 

What technology could you not live without?

GPS/Google maps - I have a terrible sense of direction and rely on it every day whilst cycling around London.
