What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?

Before joining Gridcog, I led Business Development and Partnerships at Pexapark, managing partnerships, launching new products, and helping clients navigate the renewable energy market with transparent data & analytical tools.

Earlier in my career, I worked at S&P Global Commodity Insights, supporting major energy companies and financial institutions as they explored emerging markets like hydrogen, carbon, and renewables.

My interest in energy began with my first role out of university at Ceres Energy, a biomethane consultancy in the North of England. It was an early look at the potential of decarbonisation and it’s what first sparked my passion for the energy transition, even though no one cared about biomethane back then!

What is your role at Gridcog?

I’ve joined Gridcog as Senior Business Development Manager, focusing on bringing our software to front-of-the-meter clients including developers, IPPs, Utilities & Majors.

My role is about helping these organisations unlock value by identifying the optimal physical setup for their assets to maximise commercial revenues in an increasingly complex energy development landscape.

What attracted you to working with Gridcog?

I’ve been following Gridcog closely since the company expanded into Europe around a year ago. I’ve always believed that as the energy transition develops, the challenges will become more complex, requiring innovation not only in project development but also in the software that supports it. Gridcog has built a platform that delivers answers to those complex questions in a way that’s both transparent and easy to digest.

Seeing that some of the largest energy companies already trust Gridcog’s software made the opportunity to join even more exciting. On top of that, the company’s ambition and people really stood out.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me playing some kind of sport, planning a trip to the mountains to ski, or watching London’s main football team - Crystal Palace! When I’m not doing that, I’m probably out eating and drinking with friends.

What technology could you not live without?

Day to day, it’s probably the Forest electric bike-sharing app for London (other bike-sharing apps are available). Without being too dramatic, it’s a great example of how technology can genuinely change the way we live. Whether it’s commuting, heading to work meetings, seeing friends, or getting somewhere to play sport, it saves me a huge amount of time.

If someone took that app away today, I’d seriously resent the extra hours I’d have to spend in transit.
